The web began with lots of text and little multimedia to break it up—but we’re not in Kansas anymore. People are not only more attracted to multimedia content, they expect it.
The good news is that small, portable, high-definition video cameras have pretty much removed the barrier to creating video content previously done with expensive, complicated video equipment.
Now all it takes is a couple hundred dollars and about 20 minutes, and you’ve got HD video for the web—from concept to shooting, editing and uploading to your favorite Internet site.
We’ll review three video cameras that fit the bill: the bloggie by Sony, the Flip, and the Zi8 by Kodak.

Update: Sony has graciously loaned me a new bloggie camera, the updated version of their Webbie camera which I purchased last year. So we’ll review features and benefits of the bloggie compared to the Flip. I have placed a call and sent an email to Kodak to see if we can include the Zi8 camera. Still no word from Kodak. Let’s see if they’re listening and pick-up on the comments here. That’s how Sony knew to reach out to me. They were listening. I’m so impressed!
